Fabricator Position

Novelis Oswego has an exciting opportunity for a Fabricator! The successful candidate must have a complete knowledge of the various welding, cutting, and fabrication operations. These may include but are not limited to: pipe welding, silver soldering, spray welding, electric ARC, heli ARC, acetylene cutting, scarfing operations, brazing and soldering, layout, MIG/TIG welding, use of brake, press, roller, burning table and other related equipment. The ability to share information with coworkers is also a must. The successful candidate must also have a strong attention to detail as well.

Responsibilities

• Utilize various welding, cutting, and fabrication techniques including:
• Pipe welding
• MIG/TIG Welding
• Silver soldering
• Spray welding
• Electric ARC / heli ARC
• Acetylene cutting
• Scarfing operations
• Brazing and soldering
• Familiar use of brake, press, roller, burning table and other related equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints & sketches and build/modify as necessary
• Work cross-functionally with both peers in Engineering Maintenance and Operational departments to build/repair/modify equipment as necessary.

Qualifications

• Five years Fabrication experience or similar degree/certificate is required
• Proficiently read blueprints and sketches
• Follow both written and oral directions
• Must have strong attention to detail

• Welding Certification

For this role, the pay is from $40.50 USD / hour. Individual pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and performance.

Novelis Oswego is located in northern Central New York on the shores of Lake Ontario and employs approximately 1200 people. The Oswego plant produces more than one billion pounds of high-quality aluminum sheet each year serving customers in the automotive beverage can and specialty markets.
